<description>Many Catholics are now finding out that the pre-tribulation rapture (and later on variations like mid-trib) were never taught by any church or Christian theology before 1830. In fact, pre-trib didn't take over American evangelicalism much before 1909 when the "pre-trib rapture in the margins" Scofield Bible came out. For some fascinating articles on Google, go there and type in "Pretrib Rapture Diehards," "X-Raying Margaret," "Pretrib Hypocrisy," "Letter from Mrs. Billy Graham," and "Famous Rapture Watchers" (which shows what the greatest theologians of past centuries believed about the Antichrist, Tribulation, etc.). The most complete and most documented book (endorsed by many Christian leaders) on the 178-year-old history of the pre-tribulation rapture view is THE RAPTURE PLOT (see online bookstores like Armageddon Books).
